2005 – Homepage

2005: This version of the homepage was the most comprehensive overhaul to the information architecture, brand expression and graphic design in five years. The changes were not just cosmetic; the site was created using cascading style sheets, making it handicapped accessible, standards compliant, available in PDAs and text readers — a first for Vanderbilt. The navigation items on the second-level pages were moved into one column and the search-type functions (search engines, People Finder, Site Index and Help) have been grouped together. The News and Events headlines have been moved to a more prominent location. Two new categories were added: Arts and Job Seekers, and we renamed Faculty and Staff (previously called Working at Vanderbilt.
