WP 101 – Ch 2 – Creating links and linking to media

Notes:

Add link
Select the text you want to create a hyperlink for
Click on Add Link button.
Enter in the URL for the site you want to link to. Click Enter

Editing a link
Click on the edit button

Click the gear icon if you want to link to a page within your site, change the link text, or change the link behavior (make the link open in a new tab)

Link to media (images or document files)
Click on Add Media

Click on Upload files to upload files.
To add an image that’s already on the site, click the Media Library button, select an image and click Insert

Images
To edit image alignment, click on the Edit button

Set the image alignment to be left, center or right aligned with text.

Image options
Caption: Adds text under a picture
Alternative Text: This text displays when you hover over an image with your mouse.
Link to: If you want to hyperlink an image you would use this field.
Align: Set the image alignment to be left, center or right aligned with text.

When you are done editing, press the Update button.
