Welcome our new team members!
Did you notice our avatars are missing from the Web Comm homepage? Oh…. and the ELEVEN new names listed as part of the team now? Wondering what’s going on? I’m here to give you the 411.
As you may have already heard, a significant outcome of the IT Transformation Initiative was the July 1 launch of the new Division of Information Technology under the leadership of Vice Chancellor John Lutz. In a related development from the IT initiative, Web communications at the university has also been centralized, under our office, University Web Communications.
So… what does that mean? As of July 1, 11 staff members with Web responsibilities who previously worked in the schools or in other administrative areas are now members of our team. And these eleven people are awesome. We are SO excited to have them joining our team.
Please join me in welcoming these eleven new Web Communications rock stars: Christopher Craig (DAR), Craig Fields (Engineering), Rob Fuller (Arts and Science), Joe Hills (The Commons), Jeff Kirkwood (Peabody), Jenny Mandeville (DAR), Mike Petruna (Dean of Students), Carlos Ruiz (Owen), Kevin Webb (ITS), Anna Whinnery (Peabody) and Carrie Williams (DAR).
Over the next several months, we will be working with with our new colleagues to understand all of their responsibilities and to rely on them to continue to provide high levels of service to their clients, while still determining some overall goals for increased functionality and levels of service to everyone with web needs at the University.
Again – please join me in welcoming our new colleagues to Web Communications!
And I’m hoping we’ll get the avatars back on the homepage eventually… the more the merrier!
