Financial Aid website launches

Posted by on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in Launch.

We recently worked with the Office of Student Financial Aid and Undergraduate Scholarships on redeveloping their website and bringing it into the look and feel of the main Vanderbilt Web presence.

The slideshow on the homepage features beautiful photos from our Vanderbilt photographers and highlights key facts and figures about our financial aid program — underscoring the overall message that Vanderbilt is affordable.

Navigation was reorganized to focus on audiences and frequently accessed content with the goal of getting users to the content they need in as few clicks as possible.

Content that was previously available only in PDF or Word format is now accessible throughout the site, thus making it easier for users to find what they’re looking for. (We try to steer clients away from locking their content away in PDFS or docs; many users aren’t willing to open/download those files and most mobile devices are either unable to view those file types, or they cannot be viewed in a way that is usable).

The Financial Aid office has been trained to use Omni — and are now maintaining their website themselves. Thanks to Laura Land and Brent Tener in the Financial Aid office – you guys were great to work with :)
