VUPD Site Moves to Omni
Recently the Vanderbilt University Police Department site made the jump from WordPress to Omni. This was done in an effort to consolidate all websites maintained by VUPD under one content management system, to facilitate easier upkeep. Sgt. Jon-Michael McDaniel worked closely with Web Communications to migrate the content from WordPress to Omni. During this process work was done to streamline the content and make the site more user friendly. A new color scheme and header were put in place to freshen the look of the site and bring it in line with the blue and yellow of the VUPD patch. In addition, the Traffic and Parking site (which falls under the purview of VUPD) was updated with the same blue and gold color scheme. Visually tying the two sites together reinforces the departmental structure and helps users to understand the larger administrative structure.
