#VU2020 website awarded Silver by TCPRA

University Web Communications was honored with a Silver award by the Tennessee College Public Relations Association during the organization’s spring 2016 conference.

The public-facing #VU2020 website is one part of the array of  communications that Vanderbilt’s Undergraduate Admissions share with all admitted students. The website provides a snapshot of Vanderbilt for students who are making that final decision on whether to accept their admission to Vanderbilt and become a Commodore!

A (private) personalized version of the #VU2020 website is also built for each admitted student — highlighting information that is specific to the individual. On admissions decision day, the private version of #VU2020 is actually how students learn of their admit status. Academic information is shown for the school they have been admitted to, along with their major; current students with ties to the school they would be attending are highlighted– with contact information so that they can ask questions; Information about their admissions counselor (each admitted student has a specific counselor assigned to them) is provided. A map showing where Vanderbilt is in relation to their home is provided — along with a Spotify playlist of all of the various artists who have played in Nashville in the previous year.  Next steps are easily accessed – students can accept their admission and begin the journey to Vanderbilt!

This year’s public #VU2020 website and it’s private counterpart played a vital role in the success of Vanderbilt’s building of the amazing Class of 2020, and we look forward to welcoming those students to our campus in August!
